Founded by movement luminary Christine Baltes, Jazz Spectrum Dance Company represents the tradition and culture of American Jazz Dance. Built upon the solid foundation of classical Baltes Jazz Technique, JSDC is dedication exploring & honoring the superior stylistic movement of our founder and other jazz dance legends. Under the current Artistic Direction of Janell Burgess, it is Jazz Spectrum Dance Company's mission to preserve the art of and history of classical jazz dance through performance, education, and community outreach.

The mission of SDC’s Youth Dance Conservatory is to prepare young students for futures as dancers, engaged citizens, audience members, and responsible young men and women. We offer a year-around program taught by a dedicated staff of instructors who take great care to instruct students with proper technique and great discipline in an encouraging and nurturing environment.
